Resolving Corrupted ACI Flex Orders
This article addresses a common issue where ACI Flex orders arrive corrupted and need to be resubmitted.
While occasional order corruption during the transfer process can occur for many reasons, consistent corruption (when a large percentage of your submitted orders arrive damaged) is typically caused by a heavily fragmented hard disk drive (HDD).
In simple terms, fragmentation means your storage drive has become disorganized over time as files are moved, deleted, and rearranged. This can slow down data access and interfere with file transfers.
To fix this issue, you’ll need to defragment the hard drive(s) on the system(s) you use to send ACI Flex orders. Defragmenting reorganizes the files on your drive, allowing your computer to access and transfer data more efficiently.
Note:
- This process applies only to HDDs (Hard Disk Drives) — not SSDs (Solid State Drives).
- It also applies only to Windows computers, since macOS automatically manages file placement.
Steps to Defragment Your HDD
Before You Begin
- Log in as an administrator.
- Ensure your hard drive has at least 15% free space.
- Exit all open and background programs.
- Temporarily turn off antivirus and antispyware software.
How to Defragment
- Open the Start menu.
- In the search bar, type
defrag. - Select Defragment and Optimize Drives.
- Choose the drive you want to defragment.
- Click Optimize.
Depending on the size and condition of your drive, the process may take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours.
