When ordering Flat Metals with Float Frames, there are a few different options.
Metal Single Float Frame
Metal single float frames mount one flat metal print elevated out from the surface of the float frame backing, creating a "floating", 3-dimensional effect with a solid background. The single metal print is raised flush with the front edge of the float frame, but does not touch the edges of the frame.
Metal Double Float Frame
Metal double float frames mount one flat metal print flush against the float frame backing, and then another identical flat metal on top but elevated out from the surface of the back metal, creating a "floating", 3-dimensional effect with a photographic background. The top metal print is raised flush with the front edge of the float frame, but does not touch the edges of the frame. The back metal print is touching the back edges of the float frame, but the frame does not overlap or cover any of the metal print.
Metal Print in Frame
A metal print in frame, or flat metal in a float frame, is one metal print mounted flush to the float frame backing, creating a 2-dimensional effect with the float frame extending out past the metal print. The metal print is touching the back edges of the float frame, but the frame does not overlap or cover any of the metal print.
