A unique and proven workflow in OSP allows the studio to sell sitting fees in prepay mode based on the number of outfits (example: dance schools… $25 per outfit) Once the images are posted in OSP in Proof mode, shoppers then make purchases with the sitting fee credit balance in place to work against.
Important Notes:
● This workflow works first as a Prepay job converted to Proof or Reorder mode
● Studio will Apply Payment Credits to each shopper based on email where prepay purchase was made
● All ordering is completed by the shopper in OSP
● No data is required prior to the shoot date
Here’s how it works:
In OSP, create a new PrePay project...
Enter Project Name, Project Type and the Price List along with the Date for Pre-Ordering to End > Save
Next, create ‘session fee’ products using No Print Products for this. In this dance school example, a self-explanatory png file was created containing text, which is what the shopper will see.
Once created, set the session fee prices in your price list
Now, we are ready for shoppers to log in and purchase their sessions.
In this example, 3 orders were placed in OSP Prepay
Prepay is over!
Convert the project from Prepay to Proof
Go to the Project Options > General tab … see Prepay and Convert with a pull down available
From the pulldown, select Convert to Proof Mode. (If you want to job to convert to Reorder Mode, select that option)
Also, change the price list that is to be applied to this project while in Proof / Reorder mode. Do this in the same screen
Lastly, while in this screen, change the name of the project by dropping the word Prepay. Note that the Password can remain as PrePay as it is now irrelevant.
When complete, click on the Save all tabs button
Enable ‘Allow Payment Credits’
To enable ‘Allow Payment Credits’, from the Project Options screen, go to the Misc. tab within that project and select Yes for Allow Payment Credits
Also, enter a Reference Text for each order if you’d like
Save all tabs
Sitting fee totals are summed and applied as credits to the email address that placed the order. In order for the shopper to see their credit and work against their sitting fee credit, they must log in with the same email address they used to place the sitting order.
Load subject data and images into OrderPix project
One way to do this is to create a csv file with basic data. Image file names much match exactly Image Name data in csv and do the Group Image names.
Shoppers log in and place orders
Janet Jones / momjones@abc.com logs in with the same email address that she purchased the sitting credit with
Janet Jones sees the credit available to her once she’s logged in. She sees all of her daughter’s outfits / images because the studio gave the same password in the csv file to each of Lori’s ‘outfits’
Likewise, Greg Smith logs in with the same email he used to purchase Sarah’s two dance sessions and sees his $30 credit.
And then Robert Weck logs in with the same email used to purchase Carly’s one dance session and sees a $15 credit.
At this point, orders are placed by shoppers
- Credits not used up will remain in the project as a credit to that email
- If purchase goes over the credit amount, the shopper will be charged when checking out
